Engravings, 1817-1819.

Consists of thirty-two proofs of engravings of a variety of plants prepared by Annin for Bigelow's review (forty plates were published in the three volumes of American Medical Botany). These plates were later bound and given by Annin to Penniman. The plates in this manuscript have less color than the finalized versions in the published work. In addition, the common names of the plants have been written in both pencil and ink in the lower left hand corner of most of the pages. The names and plate numbers do not always correspond to those assigned by Bigelow.
